Provision That Made Zero Sense

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." — Philippians 4:19

Money was one of my biggest fears this year. That's what keeps me awake at night. My mind is calculating all the expenses I must bear each month. Not to calculate for the unexpected event. Especially when I must rush my mom to the hospital, the fact that she will need an ambulance to go to the hospital adds more to the budget. Somehow, I feel life doesn't slow down.

When my youngest daughter had to go back to the States to finish high school, I had to choose the cheapest ticket. Even if it means she must go through long flights with many transits. I told her just to suck up and enjoy the trip regardless.

I bought her ticket with two transits in Australia. The financial differences between one transit and another were quite significant. She was forced to be ok. Everything went well as I said goodbye to her at the gate. It was her first time flying solo. I was anxious to let her go.

After seven hours, she texted me to say she had arrived safely. I was relieved that at least she had already gotten into the first destination, and then I fell asleep. It was early morning. But then I woke up to so many missed calls—my heart racing. I was worried something bad had happened. I tried to call her back, but she didn't pick up. Until she finally picked up.

She told me she was called to the airline office. She was scared cause she didn't know what to do. Then she told me they moved her flight directly to Texas, so she doesn't have to go through another transit and can arrive way earlier. She probably saved almost 10 hours of flight. It was mind-blowing. Not to mention all the privileges she got while waiting for her next flight.

Those miracles blow my mind. I can hardly comprehend what God has done for us — the kind of provision to God that shows up without warning. I didn't know things like that could happen. It was a random event.

Sometimes I couldn't squeeze things together because the math just doesn't add up. I didn't have a plan anymore, because I couldn't. But God always had a backup miracle.

He provided in ways I could never plan for:

  • Income from places I didn't expect
  • Debts that suddenly eased
  • Opportunities showing up at the perfect time
  • Food on the table even when my wallet said "no."
  • Random blessings from people who had no idea what I was going through

None of it looked logical.
None of it made sense on paper.
But God doesn't operate by spreadsheets — His provision to God comes from a place deeper than logic.

Provision wasn't always financial.
Sometimes it was :

✨ Peace when anxiety threatened my sanity
✨ Strength to push through exhaustion
✨ Wisdom to make smarter choices
✨ People who helped carry the weight

I wasn't thriving — But I wasn't drowning either.

And that in itself… is a miracle.
